My name is Brian Brooks. I am an artist living in northern California, in the port town of Oakland which sits just across the bay from San Francisco. I get over to S.F. a few times a year. The rest of the time I spend in my neighborhood. I post frequently on Tik Tok and Instagram, from time to time. I like to update my Profile Pictures from time to time over the years.

I began keeping track of my life as a way to document my growth as an artist, which first manifested itself when I learned how to draw cartoon characters. I was inspired to leave a visual record like my older brother’s copy of The Beatles: An Illustrated Record.

I have attempted to leave a trace of my life through the recreation of logos, maps and visual representations of the settings and times. The documentation began in grade school and continues to this day.

An artist finding their way through a private creative life through the use of simplified routines and projects and following certain mythologies as offered by selective obsessions and controlled media consumptions. Fully illustrated and vividly told in black & white line art.
